"I recently purchased a putter cover for my Scotty Cameron X5. 5, but unfortunately, the fit isn’t great. On top of that, I was shocked to be charged $67. 91 in duty fees—roughly 37% of the product’s price. As a Canadian who has ordered many products online from the U. S. over the past 15 years, I’ve never encountered duty fees this high. I reached out to the SWAG team and was told they use HS code 950631, which corresponds to “Golf clubs, complete. ” That would explain the excessive fees, as it’s clearly not the correct classification for a putter cover. SWAG also told me they use this code for all their products shipping to Canada, which doesn’t make sense—you can’t even buy a complete set of clubs from them. Since raising the issue, I’ve stopped receiving responses from their support team. Bottom line: if you’re Canadian, I’d think twice before ordering from SWAG. Unless you’re okay with paying an extra 37% on top of an already overpriced product, it’s just not worth it."
